Mexico | Tourism TaxSam Lebus | 03 Jan 2015
Something we found out at the broader is that you have to pay a tourism tax when leaving the country. Yet it's not like a normal exit fee, you can get out of it.
On your flight ticket or itinerary in the breakdown of payment there should be a part saying Mexico tourism tax or taxes that will include Mexico. If you can show this they you don't have to pay and save yourself 23 dollars. One of us had to pay because he couldn't find the breakdown, although he would have paid the tax anyway through his flight.
Just something to bare in mind.
